ABOUT

Heritage Christian Academy, located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, has been serving families in the Harrisburg–Hershey–Carlisle region since 1972. As a ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church, HCA provides a high-quality, Christ-centered education in a safe, wholesome environment. Enrollment is open to families from various backgrounds—students are not required to be Baptists or members of Emmanuel Baptist Church to attend.

We currently offer a full K5–12th grade program, preparing students academically, spiritually, and personally through a college-preparatory curriculum grounded in a biblical worldview.  Our academic program incorporates materials from trusted Christian publishers such as A Beka Books, Bob Jones University Press, and other select publishers. At the heart of our mission is the desire to equip students to love and serve Jesus Christ, while supporting parents in their God-given responsibility to train up their children.

Through our membership in the Keystone Christian Education Association (KCEA) and the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS), students benefit from a range of enrichment opportunities including All-State Choir, Fine Arts Festivals, All-State Band, academic testing, and athletic tournaments. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about our programs, values, and admissions process. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 717-761-7000 or hcainfo@gohca.org. We are excited about what God is doing at Heritage Christian Academy and look forward to the opportunity to partner with your family in your child’s education.

Graduating in 2010 from what was then Emmanuel Baptist Christian Academy, I came to deeply appreciate the school’s Christ-centered education, personal teacher relationships, and wide range of extracurricular opportunities. Though I didn’t fully value the structure and rules at the time, I later recognized how they shaped my character and faith. The school, church, and youth group played a major role in molding who I am today, and I’m truly grateful for that foundation.

Heritage Christian Academy is a wonderful school. We transferred our children in 2015 and this has been the best decision we made. The school atmosphere is one of encouragement and the love for Christ is shown through the administration and faculty. Our children have not only grown academically but also spiritually.
Janet Scott - Parent

Working at Heritage Christian Academy was a rewarding experience, marked by meaningful one-on-one student interactions and engaging hands-on S.T.E.M. activities. The students were spiritually grounded, kind, and supportive of one another. I especially valued the opportunity to integrate biblical principles into every class.

Melody Graeff - Former Teacher

I graduated from EBCA (now HCA) in 2013 after 13 formative years filled with strong academics, athletics, music, and a Christ-centered community. The teachers, peers, and opportunities deeply shaped both my skills and faith. I’m grateful for the lasting impact HCA had on my life.

Scott Drinkwater - Graduate/Current Pastor

HCA has not only pushed me to be academically prepared for the future, but relationally and spiritually as well.   My entire experience at HCA is one that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Andrew Black - Graduate/College Student

HCA (previously known as EBCA) was a great experience and uplifting environment to learn and grow in book knowledge and Godliness.  I made many lifelong friends during my years at EBCA.  The teachers had a profound impact and influence in my life.  The school prepared me for college and for life.

Jeff Allen - Graduate/Church Deacon

Heritage Christian Academy not only prepares students for the next steps in their academic journey but also instills enduring Biblical truths. This foundation continues to shape their lives long after graduation.

HCA is a second ministry family for which I am grateful. This school came alongside my husband and I to raise our children for God. We appreciate the teaching, sports, and music for a well-rounded education. I'm thankful for the opportunity to teach music in a godly atmosphere and to work with brothers and sisters in Christ.

Nancy Kile • Former Faculty

Looking back four years after graduation, I am so incredibly grateful for my time at Heritage Christian Academy. The teachers truly invested in me, not just academically, but spiritually and personally. Their examples and encouragement helped shape my own passion for teaching, and the strong academic foundation I received made my transition to college easier. Beyond that, HCA has also helped me grow in my personal walk with the Lord through chapel messages, service opportunities, and the Christ-centered community. I left feeling equipped not only for college and teaching, but also for a life of service and leadership.
