ACADEMICS

Curriculum

Elementary
The elementary program uses a combination of the A Beka curriculum developed at Pensacola Christian College and the curriculum produced by the Bob Jones University Press. Both curriculums take a traditional approach to education, utilizing a phonics-based reading program, effective use of drill, creationist science, and solid, foundational studies in language, penmanship, spelling, arithmetic, history and health. Bible class uses materials produced by Positive Action for Christ, a publisher in Rocky Mount, NC that specializes in Bible curriculum. In addition to the academics, students have music, art and gym classes on a regular basis. Private instrumental music lesson are also available.

Middle School and High School
The middle school and senior high programs uses primarily Bob Jones University Press materials, with some materials coming from other publishers. All materials are examined to ensure their acceptability for Christian young people.

Course offerings and content are evaluated each year to ensure that HCA offers the best education possible.

HCA offers grades K3-12 to give our students a college-preparatory education.
We desire to use the tool of education to teach and to train young people
to love and to serve Jesus Christ.

Our curriculum is primarily from A Beka Books, Bob Jones University Press, and Positive Action for Christ (Bible class), and other select publishers.
